The Government of Sri Lanka, assisted by the International Development Association of the World Bank and Global Environment Facility, is implementing the Renewable Energy for Rural Economic Development (RERED) Project. DFCC Bank has been appointed as the Project Administrative Unit for the Project, which aims to expand the commercial provision and utilisation of renewable energy resources and improve the quality of life in rural areas in Sri Lanka. The RERED Project follows the successful Sri Lanka Energy Services Delivery Project which was completed in 2002.
