Resignation of Director - Mr D S Weerakkody.

Mr  D S Weerakkody  has  resigned from the board of directors of DFCC Bank with effect from today.

The reason for the resignation is that Mr Weerakkody remains a director of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, and, he cannot also be a director of DFCC Bank under the provisions of Section 42 (3) of the Banking Act because CBC is no longer and associate company of DFCC bank pursuant to the sale of shares in CBC by DFCC Bank which was already disclosed to the Stock Exchange earlier today.
