We write to inform you that the Board of Directors of DFCC Bank at its meeting held on 28 July 2010 appointed Mr. C R Jansz and Mr. R B Thambiayah as Directors of DFCC Bank with effect from 28 July 2010. Their appointment has been approved by the Director, Bank Supervision, Central Bank of Sri Lanka in terms of Section 42, read with Section 76H of the Banking Act by letter dated 19 July 2010.
A brief resume of Mr. C R Jansz and Mr. R B Thambiayah is enclosed herewith.
Mr. C R Jansz.
Mr. Cedric Royle Jansz possesses a Diploma in Banking and Finance from the London Guildhall University, UK, Certificate of Success at the International Bankers Course conducted by Midland Bank PLC, UK (now part of HSBC) and has been certified by UN-ESCAP as a Training Manager – Maritime Transport and Shipping. He is a Director of Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC, Lanka Milk Foods (CWE) PLC, Lanka Power Projects (Pvt) Ltd and several other companies of the Distilleries Group. He has experience in the field of logistics, documentation, insurance and banking and finance related to international trade
Mr. R B Thambiayah.
Mr. Ravindra Balakantha Thambiayah has a degree in Economics from the University of Madras and is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Management Institute, UK.
He is currently the Chairman of Renuka Hotels Limited and Renuka City Hotels PLC and Chairman/Managing Director of Cargo Boat Development Company PLC and several other companies in the Renuka Hotels Group of Companies. He is also a Director of Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC, Royal Porcelain (Pvt) Limited, Rocell Bathware Limited and Royal Ceramics Distributors (Pvt) Limited. He was a Director of NDB Bank PLC from 06 February 2006 up to 22 January 2010 and the President of Colombo City Tourist Hotels Association and Vice President of the Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka. He has experience in the field of hotel management and property development.
