population of Sri Lanka is estimated at 19 million with an
annual growth rate of 1.2%. The average Sri Lankan's life
expectancy is approximately 72 years. Sri Lanka is a multi-ethnic
society consisting of 74% Sinhalese, 18% Tamils and 7% Moors.
Other ethnic groups such as the Burgers, Malays and the Veddhas
make up the balance 1%.
Language
Both Sinhalese and Tamil are the national
languages of Sri Lanka. Sinhalese is also the official language
of the country. English is widely used in the field of business
