Introduction
As Polonnaruwa is the second most important district in North Central province, DFCC Bank Polonnaruwa branch commenced it's operation, as a sub branch (a window office), on 18th November 2002, with three staff members. With the increasing demand and business potential in the area, the branch was then converted into a fully fledged branch in 2007. The Kaduruwela branch commenced its commercial banking operation through DFCC Vardhana Bank, on 27th October 2005.
Sectors assisted
The branch has been providing assistance to business ventures in the form of project loans, working capital loans, finance leases and guarantee facilities to wide variety of sectors, such as rice processing, tourism/hotels, trading, agriculture, light engineering, metal crushing, civil construction and transportation & distribution etc.
Achievements
Kaduruwela Branch together with DFCC Vardhana Bank Dmabulla and Matale branches achieved the first place of deposit campaign launched by DFCC Vardhana Bank in 2008.
Regional Business Opportunities
DFCC's role in rice processing industry, which is the most promising sector in North Central and Eastern Provinces, is remarkable. Growth of this sector is also very significant even with the turbulent economic environment.
The branch's strategic location that is more towards the Eastern Province in terms of recent development of the country would highly beneficial for future growth and development of the branch. Thereby we would be able to expand our services to untapped areas of our country.
