Introduction
The fourth branch of the DFCC Bank commenced operations in Anuradhapura on 19th December 1996. The branch provides financial facilities to business enterprises in the North Central Province, which consists of two districts, namely Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa.

Functions
The branch has provided financial assistance for business ventures in the form of project loans, working capital loans, finance leases and guarantee facilities.

Sectors Assisted
Rice milling is the predominant industry in the area, which needs seasonal funding for the purpose of storing paddy during harvests. DFCC Bank has funded this need by way of Pledge Loans to selected leasing rice millers in the area. Other sectors which received DFCC financial assistance include commercial agriculture, light engineering, bakeries, tyre re-treading, transport services, general trading, construction industry etc.

Although the DFCC Bank is unable to consider direct loans for paddy cultivation, the Anuradhapura Branch has provided 41 leasing facilities to purchase two-wheel tractors (hand tractors) to carefully selected farmers. This has helped the farmers reduce their cost of production by saving on excessive hiring charges for their own lands, while earning an extra income through outside hires.

DFCC Bank donated two meticulously crafted gates, complete with two side entrance gates made of brass, for the main entrance to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya, Anuradhapura. This project was carried out under the supervision of the Branch Office, and is part of an ongoing programme to fulfil our social responsibilities towards preserving our cultural heritage.
